A Stitcher's Wardrobe: Bloomin' Outfit

I tweaked my raglan pattern -- I raised the back and lowered the front. Still needs one more adjustment, almost there.

See the dart in the shoulder?

The cowl was worked on my knitting machine in a wool sock yarn. Think business socks. The pin is a gift from Thea -- I love how it pairs with the flowers on the shirt.

My skirt is self drafted and fits well. There is an invisible zipper in the back (no need to show it since it is invisible).

I wish you could reach into the pockets.  They are made of smooth cotton and are big enough to hold a large cell phone and a pop-tart. Why are pockets in commercially sewn garments so shallow? I can barely squeeze a slice of chewing gum in some of my jeans pockets.

I love everything about this one!
Pockets. LOVE them. Must. Have. Pockets.

They are tiny because companies are trying to shave as much off the costs as they can. I once worked in a sewing factory and had to make up the blueprint that they used for the cutting layout. Sometimes, you had to turn things a bit off grain to get it all to fit in.

A Pop Tart and CellPhone should be the standard for pocket sizing is all I am saying.
(Love this outfit too, but then, I am a SuperFan)

I want that skirt! I made pockets on my Starcroft sweater to fit my keys and iphone.

Ok, all of my pockets must now be sized for pop tart carrying!

This is a great outfit! Can you give a little more information on the top? I'd love to make a woven raglan but am unclear where to start. Did you draft your own pattern?

Hey Margaret, my pattern is a mashup of several patterns - I had a raglan dress pattern that I changed so drastically I would not recommend taking the route I took. Merchant & Mills Top No. 64 is a woven raglan pattern - I have not tried it, but I want to! I would start there.
