A Stitcher's Wardrobe: Cabled Cap

This cap went lickity-split, worked in the round with Green Mountain Spinnery's Weekend Wool, in the color "Pine Warbler". This is an honest wool, one where I can imagine what the sheep might have looked like, felt like.

I am dreaming of many sweaters in this stuff, unheavy and hard-wearing, warm and moldable, favorite pieces that lend a feeling of security.

Cute. I haven't ever seen that wool, but I love your description of it.

Love that wool and color; made a pair of mittens in it last year, but should have knit them in a tighter gauge as they are too loose for warmth. May unravel, and reknit as I love the yarn too much to not use it!

A sewing question: I used to sew for my kids and loved it, but I no longer have the same sewing machine. Instead, I have a cheap Singer bought from Target that is maddening to use. I want to return to sewing and would like a machine recommendation. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
